No. ProMax Online is designed to run on Windows 2000 Professional or
Windows XP Professional with Internet Explorer 6.0.

Your ProMax Administrator can get this information for you. ProMax Online
has different permissions for security purposes and only an Administrator
can access this information. If you are the Administrator then you will
need to speak with Darla Smith here at DMS. Because of the same security
reasons already mentioned, we also have limited who has access to that
type of information here at DMS.

If you are getting a black box instead of the login box there are only
a couple of things that could be wrong.
1) You do not have permissions to run ActiveX controls on
the local machine or Domain.
2) You do not have ActiveX controls enabled in Internet
Explorer.
3) You are trying to use a version of Internet Explorer
that is prior to version 5.5.
4) Your IT dept. is blocking ActiveX controls at the firewall.
5) You are using Windows 95.

This checkbox is used to aid in connecting to ProMax Online for computers
that have to go through a firewall that will not allow the connection
to be established normally.
You will want to be on the phone with our Technical Support Staff for
this as we may also need to make some changes in the ProMax Online initialization
file on your machine.

Yes, if the Computer in question has Windows 2000 Professional or Windows
XP Professional with Internet Explorer 6.0. And you must have either Administrator
or Power User access to the machine.
You must also have ActiveX controls enabled on the machine for the user
that is logged in. Also the firewall or anti-virus must allow ActiveX
controls..

I am new to ProMax Online and need to setup
my email account. Is there some place I can go for help with this?
The first thing to do would be to have your ProMax Administrator send
an email to
TechSupport@promaxonline.com requesting the new user be added.
Cindy will then Create a new email user account on the email servers and
send back the username and password to be entered, into the User access
area of ProMax Online, by the ProMax Administrator. Technical Support
can help with this part if you are experiencing some difficulties.

I am a long time user of ProMax 98 and I
am about to go to ProMax Online. Is there a way to get my ProMax 98 data
to the ProMax Online system?
Yes. We can convert your ProMax 98 Data
into ProMax Online. This is typically done when training is complete.
Once Training is complete we will contact you to setup a convenient time
to do this.
The Process starts with us pulling your
ProMax data from your ProMax 98 Server, this will require some help on
your part to get us connected to your machine. We then prepare a system
here with your Data and then, usually the same night, all the data is
uploaded to your new ProMax Online system.
At this point it is recommended that
you start using your ProMax Online system and discontinue using the ProMax
98 system. If you keep using the old system you will eventually start
to lose track of some customers as double entry is not a whole lot of
fun and sooner or later someone will forget to enter the data into both
systems.

Either of these are correct. They will both take you to the same
place.

Why do I have to Log back into ProMax Online
after using other programs on my computer?
There is a 30 minute inactivity timeout for ProMax Online. If your ProMax
Online sits idle for 30 minutes it will automatically log out and you
will need to log in again. this is one of ProMax Online's security features
this was designed to protect both you and your customers. This helps keep
unauthorized persons from accessing your system and pulling bureaus or
viewing customers sensitive information.

When I open a customers Credit App I get a
message that tells me someone else has this customer record checked out
and it is read only. What should I do?
You will need to do one of two things
you can wait 5 minutes for the record lock to release. Or you can call
our Tech Support dept. at 563-344-4245 and they can help you with this.

I have some new cars in my ADP or R&R
system how can I get them to my ProMax Online inventory?
Your inventory is updated each night and any vehicles you have in your
accounting software (R&R or ADP) should be pulled to ProMax Online
at that time. If there are problems or you have any questions on this
part of ProMax Online someone in our Integrations dept. can help you with
this.

My ProMax Online does not look right. Some
of the links and buttons are missing.
The first thing to check would be the
display settings. Click on the Start button and go to Settings then click
on Control Panel. In the Control Panel click on the Display Icon and then
go to the Settings Tab make sure the Screen size is set to 1024 X 768
for the best viewing of ProMax Online. if this is correct then click on
the Advanced button and make sure the font size is set to Small Fonts
then click apply this should then ask for a reboot. Reboot the machine
and go back to ProMax Online and everything should be where it belongs.

I have some black lettering on the top
of the page after logging into ProMax Online that states. "This webpage
is best viewed in Internet Explorer 5.0 with screen resolution 1024*768
and then tells mw what my screen resolution is.
If your screen resolution is higher
than 1024*768 then you will be fine and all parts of ProMax Online will
be visible. However there will be some things that do not quite look right.
But if your screen resolution is lower than 1024*768 then you will need
to change this setting in the Display Settings in Control Panel. Not all
of the buttons and links will show up in ProMax Online if the Screen Resolution
is not set to at least 1024*768.

I am getting a
message that ProMax Online can not update to the latest version.
First close down all instances of Internet
Explorer and then try logging into ProMax Online again if you receive
this message again then check for Free space on the hard drive. If there
is plenty of drive space and you still get the same message then shutdown
the computer by clicking the Start button and then Shut Down and finally
Turn off the Computer. Then allow the machine to remain off for about
20 seconds and then start it up again. This should take care of the message
and allow the update to be processed. In the event none of these things
has solved the problem call Tech Support immediately at 563-344-4245 for
additional help.

I keep getting errors that kick
me out of ProMax Online. What can I do to prevent this?
If this is happening often then you
are probably using either Windows98 or Windows ME if this is the case
simply restart the computer and this should fix the problem. If you are
not using Windows98 or Windows ME then a restart may fix the problem and
if not please call Tech Support at 563-344-4245 for help with this.
Windows 98 and Windows ME do not release
resources like Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000 and Windows XP do. This can
cause a build up in the physical memory of the machine and the only way
to clear it out is to restart the computer. You may even have to shut
the computer down completely for 15 to 20 seconds to get this cleared
out completely.

It's after 5:00pm can I still get Tech
Support at this time of Day?
Our Tech Support Hours are from 8:00am
to 8:00pm Central Time Monday thru Friday and from 9:00am to 3:00pm Central
Time on Saturdays.
These hours allow us to cover the East
coast after 9:00am Eastern time. And also allows us to cover the West
coast until 6:00pm Pacific time.

in the Administrator section of ProMax Online you can find a link called
"Lender Guidelines" that will take you to a list of the lenders
configured for your ProMax Online. if you click on the lender you do not
want to show in Desking a configuration box will open for that lender.
in this window there is a checkbox that says "Not shown in Desking"
if you put a checkmark in this box this lender will no longer show up
in your ProMax Online system.
if there is a lender in the list that does not show in Desking then you
can click on that lender and remove the checkmark, but be sure you check
the configuration for the lender and the tiers for this lender to see
that they are correct.

When I add a note to a customers record the date
comes out as sometime in 1999. why does this happen?
This is a y2k issue and can be remedied
quite easily. Go to Control Panel and open the Regional Settings or Regional
Options which ever the case may be for your version of Windows. Click
on the Date tab and you will find the formatting for the long and short
date formats. Both of these need to be set to use a 4 digit year code.
These should be available in drop down list boxes. After making the changes
click Apply and then Ok.

Why does one of my Salesperson not show up
in the drop down list box for salesman?
The ProMax administrator can go into
the User Access for this user and check the checkbox for salesperson.
If this box is not checked this user will not show up in the list of salespersons.
